Ozzy Diaz Talks About Sacrifices Ahead of LFA 127 Middleweight Title Win

Ozzy Diaz sacrificed a lot for his LFA middleweight title win.

Diaz (7-1) is coming off the biggest win of his career. He finished Bruno Assis in the main event of LFA 127. After the fight, it was announced that Diaz was offered a fight for the upcoming season of Dana White’s Contender Series.

While all of Diaz’s hard work paid off big time, it wasn’t without sacrifice.

“So, as you know, as a professional athlete, especially in the beginning stages, we don’t get paid enough to call it- like, we can’t make a living off of the fight purses we make. So, I gotta teach classes. I do have private clients. And for this fight, man, I just wanted to devote my full attention to Bruno because he is a dangerous fighter, a fighter like that was much danger to me,” Diaz said. “I had to give everything I got. So, I gave up teaching; I gave up my private clients. Everything I did throughout my day was specifically for Bruno; you know what I mean? Like the diet, the workouts, extra workouts, extra miles. All that extra stuff I was able to do because I wasn’t teaching. I was able to recover a lot more and rest more. So I felt like in every session, I was able to give my best performance.”

All of his sacrifices paid off because now he is one fight away from getting to the UFC. While he has no opponent booked yet for Dana White’s Contender Series, he is ready for whoever it is.
