Paige VanZant gets paid more for sponsored posts than UFC fights

Paige VanZant to return on July 11 against Amanda Ribas

The UFC previously booked Amanda Ribas and Paige VanZant in March, but VanZant withdrew from the fight with a lingering arm injury. Now, two months later, it appears the two are going to fight after all. Combate reported the news that the UFC is targeting the two to fight this summer on July 11.

When the UFC booked their fight in March, it was scheduled to take place at strawweight. Now when the two women finally meet, the fight will take place at flyweight.

VanZant (8-4) teased the UFC’s “Fight Island” as a possible landing spot for the fight by writing“coming to an island near you” on her Instagram on Thursday.

The last time the world saw Paige VanZant inside the octagon was when she defeated Rachael Ostovich in January 2019. This fight will be the final one on her UFC contract.

Ribas (9-1) last fought in March at UFC Brasilia, defeating Randa Markos, who replaced VanZant on the card. The Brazilian prospect is 3-0 in the UFC, adding wins over Mackenzie Dern and Emily Whitmare. Ribas plans on moving back down to strawweight after this fight.
