Parker Porter secures third straight victory at UFC Vegas 48
The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to us tonight, February 19, 2022, for UFC Vegas 48, headlined by a pair of ranked light-heavyweight contenders in Johnny Walker and Jamahal Hill.
Co-headlining the event is a catchweight bout between Kyle Daukaus and Jamie Pickett.
Daukaus was initially slated against Julian Marquez at 185 lbs, however, as Pickett took the fight on short notice, it proceeds at a catchweight of 195 lbs.
Our feature fight of the evening came in the heavyweight division between Parker Porter and Alan Baudot.
Porter came to the UFC with a record of 9-5, and after being knocked out by Chris Daukaus in the first round of his promotional debut. He’s since won his last two straight over surging prospect Josh Parisian, a fight he was a massive underdog in, as well as Chase Sherman back in August.
Baudot on the other hand has gone winless in two UFC efforts, suffering a defeat to a prodigy in Tom Aspinall and having a no contest in his most recent bout last July. However, he is the former two-time HEAT light-heavyweight champion, a title he won prior to joining the UFC.

Official Result: Parker Porter def. Alan Baudot via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
Both men get right to it to start the fight, swinging heavy leather toward one another.
Baudot is by far the more technical striker of the two, but Porter is able to bully his way inside and land his own shots. He eats a nasty uppercut for his troubles but is now leaning on Baudot along the fence.
The two are back to striking range, before Porter catches a body kick after eating it, securing a takedown to end the first.
Porter is able to continue with the pressure and tire Baudot out, though the second round was much closer than the first. Baudot is landing nice shots, and cleanly often times, but Porter just won’t be denied.
Baudot’s striking continues to look good to start round three, but he’s visibly more tired than he was in the first round. Porter is then finally able to secure another takedown midway through the round and remains on top until the final buzzer, even securing and keeping mount in the final 30 seconds.
Parker Porter has had a very impressive, and incredibly respectable career turnaround. Just incredible.
