Both big men bring impressive win streaks into battle. Walsh has won four straight fights, and is riding high on back-to-back, first-round stoppages. Haley, meanwhile, is unbeaten in his last three, most recently scoring a gruesome leglock win over Mike Rodriguez at CES 39.

Both fighters hope to keep their winning streaks alive when they meet in a 215-pound catchweight bout at CES 41.

“The first-round finish is ideal. The little sprinkle on top is getting a clean knockout,” said Walsh, a proud Bostonian and former Ohio State wrestler. “A lot of people talk about my wrestling, but they don’t really know about the power in my hands. I’m looking forward to showing that off again.”

With nine trips to the cage under his belt, Haley hopes 2017 is his breakout year in the sport. In the New Hampshire product’s eyes that all begins with a victory over Walsh in Lincoln on January 27.

“I’ve always wanted to fight the toughest guys, so I jumped at this opportunity. This would definitely be the biggest win of my career,” said Haley. “He’s a very strong wrestler. I’m happy to grapple with him, but my advantage is standing up.”
