Patricio Pitbull vs Adrien Broner

Patricio Pitbull vs Adrien Broner? (Bellator MMA/ Showtime)

Patricio Pitbull vs Adrien Broner?

This is a question that has since emerged in the wake of Bellator MMA announcing a broadcast agreement on Showtime going forward.

The dual division Bellator MMA titlist began his Bellator on Showtime media scrum with a callout of the polarizing boxer.

Broner is mapping out a comeback later this month for his first fight in over two years. He lost via unanimous decision to Manny Pacquiao in January 2019 during his last Queensberry Rules contest.

Patricio Pitbull further elaborated on his Broner callout when I spoke with him and I got further clarification on what his future goals in boxing might be.

Patricio Pitbull vs Adrien Broner?

I’m kind of curious because the name Adrien Broner was mentioned earlier what with the Showtime crossover and everything.

Does Patricio have aspirations for just these unique I guess kind of one-off fights or are there greater aspirations to perhaps contend for a boxing title?

“I like challenges. If boxing has someone who is good, I want to fight them. I don’t care about the titles, I care about the challenger. I put myself in the dangerous. Because of that, I want to dominate them. Put himself in a challenging position and dominate.”

Before any kind of boxing bout happens, Pitbull has immediate matters to deal with in the MMA world.

He will defend his featherweight crown against Emmanuel Sanchez at Bellator 255 on April 2nd. Pitbull vs Sanchez is a rematch from 2018 where Sanchez lost to Patricio Pitbull via decision at Bellator 209.

This main event bout will also serve to continue the promotion’s featherweight grand prix with the winner here facing AJ McKee in the finals.

Do you like the idea of Patricio Pitbull doing a boxing crossover? How would the dual division Bellator titlist fare in the sweet science under the Showtime banner?
