Patrick Mix looking to record 22nd straight win at Bellator 222
Undefeated professional mixed martial artist Patrick Mix puts his perfect (10-0) record on the line when he meets Ricky Bandejas (11-2) tomorrow night at Bellator 222.
Not only is Mix undefeated as a pro, he also piled up 11 wins with no losses as an amateur. Not too shabby.
Last week MyMMANews.com spoke with Bandejas who said, “I know he’s tough. I don’t believe he’s lost as a pro and or as an amateur. He has a lot of prospect energy on him and I’m looking forward to taking that zero.”
Yesterday we caught up with Mix at the Bellator 222 media day to ask about what Bandejas said.
“It’s not gonna happen man, you know? Six years undefeated in the game man,” Mix said.
“This will be my 22nd fight in a row that I’ve won. I’m on a major streak, and on a major finish streak, so I’m going out there looking to finish him.”
Mix, from Buffalo, New York, says that he is not surprised that he and Bandejas, a New Jersey native, never fought before on the regional circuit.
“No, we were assigned to different promotions so I’m not surprised we haven’t met, but now’s the perfect time, you know? This will be at Madison Square Garden, you know, such a big card.”
Even though this will be his first time competing for Bellator, Mix doesn’t really expect much to change.
“Nothing different, man. I’m from one of the best gym in the world. My partners are the best in the world. I just gotta do what I do, and if I do that, I’m looking to finish him,” Mix said.
