After a recent controversial unanimous decision loss to Edson Barboza at UFC on FOX 16, July 25, “The Irish Dragon,” Paul Felder makes a quick bounce back into the octagon to fight Ross Pearson at UFC 191, September 5, in Las Vegas.
Felder, now 10-1 after the loss, talks about the fight against Barboza, expanding his family with the birth of a child, acting career, CFFC days, and much, much more.
Felder, a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has been training with Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone who is next in line for a UFC lightweight title shot. The Irish Dragon says that despite being in the same weight class as Cerrone, he truly respects him as a fighter and has learned a lot from the guy he calls “the best in his division.”
In speaking about his upcoming fight with Pearson, Felder said that he will have to train a little differently and take a different approach to this fight than he did against Barboza because of their different striking tendencies.
“It’s no secret, I don’t want to go in there and stand two inches from him, toe to toe, and see who hits harder,” Felder said.
Paul Felder vs Ross Pearson takes place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, September 5 and is headlined by a UFC flyweight championship rematch between the champion, Demetrious Johnson and challenger, John Dodson.
