Paul Felder vs. Dan Hooker set for UFC Auckland in February
The UFC now has a main event for when they head to New Zealand on February 22, 2020.
A highly anticipated lightweight bout between Paul Felder and Dan Hooker will headline the card from Auckland.
The promotion made the announcement today on their social media accounts by posting a photo of the two standing next to each other. The UFC’s Facebook account read, “Your #UFCAuckland main event! The Irish Dragon vs. The Hangman!”
Felder (17-4) is coming off a controversial spilt decision win over Edson Barbosa. He won his last five fights at lightweight.
Hooker (19-8) has been on a tear since moving up to 155 pounds in 2017 by posting a 6-1 record in the division.
In Hooker’s last outing at UFC 243, he got the biggest win of his career by defeating Al Iaquinta via unanimous decision. That fight was the co-main event in front of a UFC record-breaking attendance from the Marvel Arena in Melbourne, Australia.
Currently the two are ranked right behind each other at six and seven respectively.
No other bouts have been announced for the February card in Auckland.
