Pearl Gonzalez reveals BKFC 22 loss to Britain Hart was her ‘last bare-knuckle fight’

Pearl Gonzalez will no longer be fighting sans gloves.

Gonzalez who is 35-years-old surprised many when she signed with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship in April. The former UFC fighter and Invicta FC title challenger, had a successful debut in June as she beat Charisa Sigala by decision at BKFC 18. She then returned on Saturday at BKFC 22 where she lost a competitive decision to Britain Hart.

The fight was back-and-forth but it was Hart’s pressure and pace being the difference as she was constantly the first to the punch. However, in the third round, Gonzalez began finding her range and started to land the heavier shots which opened up a big cut below the eye of Hart. The fight began to even out and with just seconds left in the fifth, both women let loose and traded punches until the final horn sounded where Hart was announced as the winner with scores of 48-47, 48-47, 49-46.

Now, after the loss, Pearl Gonzalez took to Instagram to announce that Saturday’s loss was her last fight in BKFC.

“Thank you to all of my fans!! Another day in the office, I’ll be back!! This was my last bare knuckle fight.. Looking forward to what’s in my future!,” Gonzalez wrote.

If Gonzalez is done in BKFC, she could return to MMA and Invicta FC where she is 10-5 as a pro. She last fought in MMA back in February of 2020 where she dropped a decision to Miranda Maverick. Prior to that, she scored a decision win over Brogan Walker-Sanchez. The veteran did fight for the Invicta FC flyweight title but lost a technical decision to Vanessa Porto. The 35-year-old went 0-2 in the UFC losing to Cynthia Calvillo at UFC 210 by submission and Poliana Botelho at UFC 216 by decision.
