Pedro Carvalho excited to face Mads Burnell in front of Irish fans
Pedro Carvalho cannot wait to fight in front of the Irish fans once again when returns to the Bellator cage at Bellator 285 on Sep. 23.
Carvalho has had plenty of experience with the Irish fans throughout his career and after several experiences of being in the crowd with the fans and getting to fight in front of them once, Carvalho has named the Irish fans as the No. 1 pound-for-pound fans in the world.
The last time Carvalho fought in front of the hometown Dublin fans was in 2021 and the crowd fueled him to a unanimous decision win over Daniel Weichel.
Now he’s hoping that fights will give him the energy to go out and get another major win has Carvalho has the opportunity to get himself back into title contention if he can beat Mads Burnell.
Both Burnell and Carvalho come into the fight has top ranked fighters in Bellator’s featherweight division has they will come into the fight ranked at No. 3 and No. 5 in the 145 pound weight class.
While Carvalho’s training is a bit different these days has he has been spending more time in his home country of Portugal after the birth of his second child, he has been fully dialed into this camp and major sure to spend extra time in his home gym of SBG Ireland ahead of the fight.
Carvalho has been a long time fighter under the SBG banner and he feels that despite years and years of training under the gym, he is still learning new things and getting better on a daily basis.
Prior to Bellator 285, Carvalho spoke with MyMMANews to discuss his preparation for the fight, his excitement for fighting in Dublin and the landscape of Bellator’s crowded featherweight division.
