PFL 2: Curtis Millender has waited years to fight Rory – “dream opponent, dream money, dream opportunity”

The PFL season came back in strong order last week headlined by Clay Collard’s upset of newcomer and former UFC champion Anthony Pettis. In PFL 2, this Friday (April 29th), Curtis Millender takes on former UFC veteran and Bellator champion, Rory MacDonald, as both make their anticipated PFL debuts. We caught up with “Curtious” Curtis Millender, and he is ecstatic to get in the cage with the former champ.

“I’m super pumped,” Millender stated. “It’s crazy, about 6 years ago I did an interview, was asked what were my dream fights, Rory MacDonald was the first one on that list. I’ve always admired his style. Always thought it be a good fight,” Millender continued. “Dream opponent, dream money, dream opportunity and I’m sick of dreaming so trying to make it all reality.”

Millender has always had the brightest lights of MMA on him. A UFC veteran, Bellator MMA veteran, LFA veteran and now PFL debuter. “Curtious” Millender, although watch the full interview for his possible new nickname, is excited to make the PFL walk, but it is just another walk.

“It’s not going to be anything I haven’t seen,” Millender told MyMMANews. “The nerves, all that stuff, that’s out the window. My 7th fight I walked into Mohegan Sun Arena against Brennan Ward and couldn’t hear anything, my cherry was popped that night,” Millender laughed. “I’m not scared of anything, taking it as a blessing with one goal in mind, get the million dollars.”

Millender has only won 1 of his last 4 fights, given against top UFC and Bellator talent, this is a defining moment for the 34 year old.

“I’ve been in this position before,” Millender began. “The last time I lost 3 of my last 4, I went on an 8 fight winning streak. This is the beginning of that streak, and halfway through it I get a million dollars.”
