PFL 6 Results – Olivier Aubin-Mercier vs. Anthony Romero
The Professional Fighters League,wraps up the second half of the 2023 PFL Regular Season with PFL 6: Welterweights & Lightweights. In the PFL 6 main event, 2022 PFL Lightweight Champion Olivier “The Canadian Gangster” Aubin-Mercier meets fellow Canadian Anthony “The Genius” Romero.
Aubin-Mercier, who weighed in at 155.6-pounds, currently sits atop the Lightweight standings, and can book a return trip to the PFL Playoffs with a stoppage win. Romero, meanwhile, weighed-in at 155.4-pounds for his 2023 PFL Regular Season debut, and will need a stoppage win to keep himself in contention for a spot in the postseason.
In the co-main event, 2022 PFL Welterweight Champion Sadibou “The Swedish Denzel” Sy of Sweden takes on Shane “AAA” Mitchell of Australia in a Welterweight bout. Sy, who weighed in at 170.6-pounds, is currently sitting in fourth place in the Welterweight division and can secure a record-setting fifth-straight PFL Playoffs appearance with a win. Mitchell, weighed in at 170.8-pounds, and will need at least a second-round finish in order to stay alive in the playoff race.
Further action in the Lightweight division has “Hurricane” Shane Burgos of the United States facing Yamato Nishikawa of Japan in a win or go home fight. Perhaps the most highly touted signing of the off-season, Burgos weighed in at 155.8-pounds, and finds himself in a must-win situation to remain in the postseason picture. Nishikawa, meanwhile, weighed in at 155.8-pounds, and needs a win for a chance to earn a PFL Playoff spot.
Further action in the Welterweight division features 2018 PFL Welterweight Champion Magomed Magomedkerimov and David “Sagat” Zawada. The former champion Magomedkerimov weighed in at 171.0-pounds and is currently atop of the Welterweight standings. A win of any kind sends Magomedkerimov back into the PFL Playoffs. Zawada, meanwhile, weighed in at 170.2-pounds.
Magomed “Prince” Umalatov takes on fellow undefeated competitor Nayib “Cachorro” Lopez in a Welterweight contest.
Umalatov, who weighed in at 170.4-pounds, is currently second in the Welterweight standings, and can clinch a second-straight PFL Playoffs appearance with a win. Lopez, meanwhile, weighed in at 170.0-pounds, and can make his PFL Playoffs debut with a stoppage victory.
Kicking off the ESPN card is a Lightweight contest between fan-favorites “Cassius” Clay Collard of the United States and Stevie “Braveheart” Ray of Scotland. Collard, a 2021 semifinalist, weighed in at 155.1-pounds, and looks to clinch another postseason appearance with a stoppage win. Ray, weighed in at 155.6-pounds, needs a win to stay in the PFL Playoffs race.
