Phil Ferraro talks grappling competition with Aljamain Sterling

Phil Ferraro meets UFC bantamweight fighter Aljamain Sterling in a jiu-jitsu competition this Sunday, February 17 when Dead Serious Promotions presents Men of War Professional Submission Grappling.

Ferraro, a purple belt, faces Sterling in a brown belt level competition with a 10-minute time limit at the iPlay America Center in Freehold, New Jersey.

While this is a jiu-jitsu event and striking is not allowed, Ferraro is no stranger to mixed martial arts competition.  It has been close to three years since his last fight in May 2015, but the 30-year old fighter went out with a win, and hasn’t looked back since.  With no plans to return to MMA, Ferraro’s eyes are set on BJJ and training with the Miller Brothers and 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu Bethlehem.
