Post-fight penalties handed out for RIZIN 27 bout Tsuyoshi Sudario vs Kazushi Miyamoto

RIZIN’s sanctioning body Japan MMA Official Committee announces penalties for the RIZIN 27 post fight incident for Tsuyoshi Sudario vs Kazushi Miyamoto.

Today, RIZIN announced that the sanctioning body of this Sunday’s event, JMOC (Japan MMA Official Committee) will be penalizing those involved in the incident that occurred after the bout.

Tsuyoshi Sudario – Red corner
Received a Red card / Results in a 25% pay cut
Penalty detail: Disobeying the official by continuous blows to his opponent after the referee had officially stopped the fight. (Article25-27,28)

Kazushi Miyamoto Corner Noboru Uchida – Blue corner
Received a Warning
Penalty detail: Attacking the opponent after the referee had officially stopped the fight. (Article
29-11)

Tsuyoshi Sudario Corner Enson Inoue – Red Corner
Received a Warning
Penalty detail: Responding to his opponent’s corner who initiated the attack and disobeying the
official. (Article 29-13)

(2) Penalties such as point deductions and disqualifications which hold the same effect as during the fight, may be given at any time before the fight, in the locker room, or when Fighters refuse to listen to the Sanctioning Officials.

(3) If a penalty is given after the fight, and/or when the penalty held before or during the fight is determined after the fight, the result of the fight may be overturned depending on the level of penalty.

Article 28: Imposing Penalties

(1) The penalty deductions from yellow cards will be the following:

ii. One red card – penalty of 25% deduction from contracted show money

(11) Corners must refrain from using aggressive, abusive language and must not make physical contact with the Officials.
(13) If Corners and/or Fighter related personals continue to disobey the Official’s commands regardless of location, Fighter may be penalized with a yellow card or red card which will take effect to the Fighters pay in the same way during a fight.

The incident occurred after Sudario finished Miyamoto with a promotional record breaking knockout.

Referee Ryogaku Wada waved off the fight in 6 seconds after Sudario landed a clean right hand to Miyamoto’s jaw. Sudario refused to stop attacking after the official stoppage. Sudario’s corner, Enson Inoue entered the ring and helped restrain Sudario, whereupon Miyamoto’s corner Noboru Uchida entered the ring and pushed Sudario. Inoue then responded by aggressively pushing Uchida and putting his hand on his neck. It was at this point that the officials were able to fully intervene.
