Randy Costa goes in depth on the mental side of the game ahead of UFC Columbus
Randy Costa (5-10) is set to take on Martin Day at UFC Columbus on March 28. Before that he took the time to talk to MyMMANews about a variety of topics including the mental side of the fight game.
Costa takes the mental side very seriously and even went as far as to study sports psychology in school where he was able to learn about the mindset that leads you to becoming champion. He doesn’t look at classic athletes like Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant as examples but rather looks at guys like Conor McGregor and Georges St-Pierre as inspiration.
Costa also discusses what his mindset was like heading into his past few fights and where his head is currently at as he takes on Day in a few fights.
Costa also talked about his upcoming fight and how he matched, his “Zohan” nickname, and so much more.
“As an opponent, he’s a phenomenal opponent,” Costa said of Day. “Very exciting, very flashy, very fun, very tough. I don’t think he’s ever had a boring fight. I could say the same thing for myself,” he added.
