Ray Cooper III and Jordan Young PFL 5 Media Day quotes
PFL 5 takes place on Thursday, June 17th and it all goes down live at Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey. I spoke with Ray Cooper III and Jordan Young at PFL Media day ahead of their respective bouts.

Cooper III takes on Nikolay Aleksakhin in the evening’s co-feature as the two welterweight warriors look to further advance in the PFL hierarchy.
The 170-pound tournament champion in 2019 looks to go 2-0 in his 2021 campaign in a few days’ time.
Young clashes with Tom Lawlor in an intriguing light heavyweight matchup on the preliminary portion.
After a series of factors beyond his control lead to plans being scrapped for his late April PFL debut, Jordan Young is hungry to get back into the win column. This following his first pro loss in Bellator MMA and over a year and a half out of the cage.

On your Instagram, I’m seeing that the hashtag Lion of Judah, seems like a pretty prevalent theme there. What’s the importance of that to you and the significance of the Lion of Judah phrase?
“The Lion of Judah means Jesus’s lineage and I’m a strong believer in Christ. I get all my power from my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and that’s the whole story. The lion is Jesus and that’s what I represent.”

Last time we were talking, you were saying you were getting into a little bit of the East Coast vibes. Localizing yourself a little bit, jamming to some Dave East.
I’m kind of wondering what music you’re jamming to in the bubble now to get into an optimal headspace.
“I like The Black Soprano Family, Benny the Butcher. I’ve been listening to a lot of Benny the Butcher. Kodak Black just dropped a new album, you know. I’m from South Florida, Broward County. Kodak and Benny the Butcher. That’s who I’ll go with for this time.”
