Arnold Allen, Sodiqu Yuseff

Report: Arnold Allen and Sodiq Yusuff verbally agree to fight on April 10

According to a report from MMAJunkie, an intriguing fight between rising featherweight contenders Arnold Allen and Sodiq Yusuff has been verbally agreed upon to take place on a UFC Fight Night card on April 10.

As of now, a venue and a location have yet to be determined for the event.

The 27-year-old Allen, who’s currently ranked No. 9 in the 145-pound division, is undefeated since making his UFC debut in 2015. A winner of nine-straight overall and seven-straight in the UFC, the Englishman has earned notable victories over Makwan Amirkhani, former title challenger Gilbert Melendez, and Nik Lentz.

While his record is certainly impressive, Allen has struggled with activity throughout his UFC tenure. He competed only once in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 respectively, before competing twice in 2019. However, he again only fought once in 2020, and by the time he returns in April, he’ll have been on the sidelines for nearly 15 months.

Yusuff, who’s 27 as well, has also established himself as a name to watch at 145 pounds. After beating Mike Davis on an edition of Dana White’s Contender Series in 2018, he earned a contract with the UFC and has since put together a four-fight win streak. Most recently, he scored a decision victory over Andre Fili.

Like his upcoming opponent Arnold Allen, Sodiq Yusuff hasn’t competed since January 2020 and will be coming off a near-identical layoff when the two clash later this year.

The April 10 event is currently set to be headlined by a pivotal middleweight bout between Darren Till and Marvin Vettori.
