Richie Gates talks MMA on the Mountain title fight – PA Cage Fight 26
This Saturday, October 15th in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Richie Gates (4-1) takes on Michael Pope in the main event of PA Cage Fight 26 for the organization’s lightweight title. This is your the time Gates is fighting for a title in the professional rankings and this is a fight he specifically asked for.
With the bout scheduled for just day away, we briefly spoke with Gates earlier today to talk preparation, weight cut, and why he asked for this matchup.
Gates is on a four fight win streak heading in to this title fight. All four were finishes; three TKO’s and one submission. All were relatively quick fights. The 24-year old Gates tell us how he see’s this fight going down and if he will take a more cautious approach since more is at stake this time around.
This will be his fifth fight with PA Cage Fight. Gates tells us a little bit more about the organization and what it is like to fight for them.
Also, it will be a homecoming of sorts for Gates as he is a former employee at Montage Mountain, but he tells us that was many moons ago.
