Rob Font vs. Song Yadong added to UFC 292

An exciting bantamweight bout between two of the division’s top fighters in Rob Font vs. Song Yadong has been added to the upcoming UFC 292 card.

The UFC officially confirmed the Font vs. Yadong bout this week, after MMA journalist Marcel Dorff of Eurosport NL first reported the matchup.

Font (20-6) is the No. 7 ranked bantamweight in the UFC. Now 35 years of age, Font is coming off of one of the best performances of his MMA career to date when he knocked out top prospect Adrian Yanez at UFC 287. Prior to that, he had lost two straight fights to Jose Aldo and Marlon Vera, but in total, he enters this bout having won five of his last seven fights. Overall, he is one of the division’s best fighters.

Yadong (20-7-1) is the No. 8 ranked bantamweight in the UFC. Just 25 years old, Yadong is coming off of one of the biggest wins of his career when he finished Ricky Simon in the fifth round of their fight earlier this year. He enters this matchup having won four of his last five fights overall, including his only recent loss coming against one of the 135lbs division’s top contenders in the form of Cory Sandhagen.

Overall, Font vs. Yadong has all the makings of a phenomenal fight. Both men prefer to stand and trade, so this should be a very exciting fight for fans to watch. Font is the older fighter and he has more UFC experience, but Yadong has a ton of UFC experience himself and he is still getting better considering his young age. That makes this a difficult fight to call. While Font may be slightly favored here, he won’t be in for an easy night as Yadong has shown he is still coming for that belt.

Who do you think wins this bantamweight bout, Rob Font or Song Yadong?
