Robert Follis, former Xtreme Couture head coach, passes away

Very sad news in the mixed martial arts community this morning as we learn of the passing of former Xtreme Couture head coach, Robert Follis.  According to reports from girlfriend, Myra Fukuno, Follis passed away on December 15.

Follis broke away from the Las Vegas based fight team in November, after a more than four year tenure there. Prior to his time at Xtreme Couture, he was the head coach and co-owner of Team Quest in Portland, Oregon.

Details as to the cause of death have not yet been released. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available. A fundraiser has been set up at youcaring.com.

****** UPDATE:  A coroner has ruled the death of Robert Follis as suicide from a self-inflicted gun shot to the head along Route 160.

Deeply saddened this morning to learn that Robert Follis has passed away. Truly one of the best coaches and one of the most kind, considerate men I have met in MMA, or any walk of life. May he rest in peace. And may all the fighters he impacted continue his fine legacy. What a loss.
