Rodolfo Vieira is coming back to the octagon.
Vieira, a jiu-jitsu standout, will face Markus Perez in a middleweight bout on Oct. 10. MMA Fighting was first to report the news of this upcoming fight.
Rodolfo Vieira (7-0), who is an Abu Dhabi Combat Club gold medalist and multiple-time IBJJF champion, is 2-0 in the UFC. He got a win in his last outing when he submitted Saparbeg Safarov at UFC 248 in March.
Perez (12-3) comes into the fighting with a losing record (2-3) in the UFC. His two wins came via submission over James Bochnovic and Anthony Hernandez. He was scheduled to face Eric Spicley this past weekend at UFC Vegas 5, but Spicley was forced to withdraw from the fight due to weight-cutting issues. He was going to fight a UFC newcomer in Charles Ontiveros, but the Nevada Athletic Commission wouldn’t allow the fight to happen.
