Despite rumors, Ronda Rousey says she will not be part of WWE’s Royal Rumble on Sunday

If you wanted to see former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey appear at this Sunday night’s WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view, your wish will not be granted.

“I’m actually leaving to Colombia right now to finish shooting ‘Mile 22’ and won’t be back until mid-February,” Rousey told TMZ Sports. “I’ve got other stuff to do right now”

18-women have officially entered the 30-woman Royal Rumble event which drew question as to whether Rousey would be a participant or not. The former UFC star was seen at the Mae Young Classic in 2017 and in Los Angeles dining with WWE COO Paul “Triple H” Levesque earlier this month.

In addition to being out of the country, the former UFC superstar said that she doesn’t even have an official contract with the WWE yet.
“Regardless of what anyone’s said, no pen to paper for me,” Rousey said.

In the historic event, the same rules that apply to the Men’s Royal Rumble Match will apply to the Women’s. Thirty Superstars will enter, one at a time, at consistent intervals. An elimination occurs when a Superstar is sent over the top rope with both feet touching the floor, and the last woman standing will receive a Championship Match at WrestleMania.
