Roxanne Modafferi vs. Lauren Murphy targeted for June 20
A big fight is in the works in the UFC’s women’s flyweight division.
MMA Fighting reported that a fight between Roxanne Modafferi and Lauren Murphy is being targeted for the UFC’s fight card on June 20. The event does not have a location at this time.
Modafferi is coming off a huge win over Maycee Barber at UFC 246 in January. The MMA veteran has won two of her past three fights, including a win over Antonina Shevchenko, the sister flyweight queen Valentina Shevchenko.
Murphy is currently on a hot streak, winning back-to-back fights, including three of her past four bouts. In her last outing at UFC 247 in February, Murphy earned a split decision win over Andrea Lee.
As of right now, there is no main event for the June 20 card. Originally, a heavyweight fight between Curtis Blaydes and Alexander Volkov was set to headline the event in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, but the promotion was forced to change plans due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
