Sam Alvey looks to snap losing-skid, meets Michal Oleksiejczuk in August

Sam Alvey will finally look to snap his losing streak as he’s fighting out his UFC contract against Michal Oleksiejczuk.

According to a report by Sportowe Fakty, and since confirmed by MyMMANews, Alvey will face Oleksiejczuk on a Fight Night card on August 6. The fight will also take place at middleweight as it will be Oleksiejczuk moving down in weight for the scrap. The main event and location of the card is also unknown at this point.

Sam Alvey (33-17-1 and one No Contest) is on an eight-fight winless streak as during the run he’s 0-7-1 and coming off a submission loss to Brendan Allen. Prior to that, he suffered a split decision loss to Wellington Turman and a submission loss to Julian Marquez while fighting Da Un Jung to a draw. His other losses during this run came to Ryan Spann by split, Klidson Abreu by decision and knockout losses to Jimmy Crute and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. His last win was back on June 1, 2018 as he beat Gian Villante by split decision after knocking out Marcin Prachnio in the fight before.

Michal Oleksiejczuk (16-5 and one No Contest) will be dropping down to middleweight after losing a decision to Dustin Jacoby last time out. Prior to that, he scored a TKO win over Shamil Gamzatov and a split decision win over Modestas Bukauskas. The Pole has been in the UFC since 2017 and has a record of 4-3 and one No Contest in the UFC. His other two wins are over Gadzhimurad Antigulov and Gian Villante, both by knockout. This will be the first time he fights at middleweight since his second pro fight.
