Sean Brady submits Jake Matthews in dominant performance at UFC 259

Sean Brady blasts ‘scared’ Stephen Thompson for ducking the fight, tells Belal Muhammad to sign the contract

Sean Brady appears to be having a hard time getting a fight signed.

Brady has not fought since last November when he beat Michael Chiesa by decision to improve to 15-0 and 5-0 in the UFC. Since then, he had nose surgery and is now finally ready to return but he claims the likes of Stephen Thompson and Belal Muhammad are not signing the contract.

“@bullyb170 (Belal Muhammad) I know the ufc is calling. pick up the (phone) and agree to the fight. Nowhere to run now. I am coming for you,” Brady wrote.

The rising welterweight contender then followed it up by taking a shot at Thompson for turning him down.

“@WonderBoyMMA (Stephen Thompson), @ufc told you to fight me. You flat out said, “no,” because you are scared. U can’t stay in the rankings refusing to fight ranked fighter. Step up let’s go!,” Brady wrote.

If Brady is telling the truth and Muhammad and Thompson are turning him down it’s uncertain who the Philly native would fight next. Both matchups are logical ones, especially the Muhammad fight as the winner could very well get a title shot given both men haven’t fought Kamaru Usman before.

However, if both those matchups don’t come to fruition for Brady, he has his eyes set on two legends in Nick Diaz or Jorge Masvidal and is the perfect position to take advantage.

“If @bullb170 & @WonderboyMMA don’t wanna fight how about @GamebredFighter (Jorge Masvidal) & @nickdiaz209, let’s show this division what’s up #bmf #badthingshappeninphilly,” Brady added.

Sean Brady (15-0), as mentioned, is coming off the decision win over Michael Chiesa. Prior to that, he submitted Jake Matthews while also submitting Christian Aguilera, and had back-to-back decision wins over Ismail Naurdiev and Court McGee to kick off his UFC tenure. He’s also the former CFFC welterweight champion and defended the belt twice. On the regional scene, the ninth-ranked welterweight had notable wins over Gilbert Urbina, Colton Smith, and Taj Abdul-Hakim.
