Sergei Pavlovich returns in December against Tanner Boser
Sergei Pavlovich will be making the walk to the Octagon for the first time since October 26, 2019.
Pavlovich hasn’t fought since UFC Singapore which saw Demian Maia submit Ben Askren in the main event. Now, however, he is set to return on December 4 against Tanner Boser, TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter broke the news, which Pavlovich then confirmed on his social media.
Sergei Pavlovich (14-1), as mentioned, hasn’t fought since 2019 where he TKO’d Maurice Greene in the first round. Before that, he picked up his first UFC win as he KO’d Marcelo Golm after losing by TKO in November of 2018 to Alistair Overeem in his promotional debut. The Russian is the former Fight Nights Global heavyweight champion and is currently the 14th-ranked heavyweight. He was supposed to face Ciryl Gane back in August of last year but he suffered an injury. Pavlovich then was booked against Tom Aspinall on September 4 but visa issues knocked him out of the fight.
Tanner Boser (20-8-1) returned to the win column back in June as he TKO’d Ovince Saint Preux. Prior to that, he suffered a controversial split decision to Ilir Latifi and a decision loss to Andrei Arlovski, in a fight many thought he won as well. The back-to-back losses came after two straight knockout wins as he beat Raphael Pessoa and Philipe Lins. His first UFC loss came in his second fight as he dropped a decision to Ciryl Gane in December of 2019 after beating Daniel Spitz by decision in his debut.
