Texeira will be making his first title defense against the streaking Prochazka. Texeira won the title back in October of last year. He had a spectacular performance and ended former champ Jan Blachowicz’s night early by second-round submission. At 42 years old, Texeira is one of the oldest fighters to have ever won a UFC title, but he is not ready to slow down just yet. He has won six in a row and has been looking better than ever. Prochazka is also on a bit of a roll himself. He has won 12 in a row and two since coming to the UFC. He has had a very quick and impressive rise up the rankings and could be one of the toughest tests for Texeira.
The co-main event for this card will be a flyweight title bout between Valentina Shevchenko and Taila Santos. Shevchenko was last seen in the Octagon back in September for her sixth title defense. Santos has been working her way up to this title fight by knocking off some top fighters in the division. She has won four in a row most recently a win over Joanne Wood in November.
In addition to these two title fights, a very intriguing middleweight match-up between Robert Whittaker and Marvin Vettori has been added as well. The date for this massive PPV event is June 11.
