Shane Burgos injured, PFL debut on hold
The Professional Fighters League (PFL) debut of former UFC featherweight fighter Shane Burgos (15-3) will have to wait until next year.
Ariel Helwani was first to report on Burgos’s injury, and states that the promotion is currently looking for a replacement to face fellow former UFC fighter Marlon Moraes (23-10-1). Details surrounding the injury have not yet been revealed.

Burgos, who signed with the PFL earlier this year, was scheduled to meet Moraes on November 25 at the 2022 PFL Championships. The fight was not part of the tournament series, rather a standalone fight which was to be the promotional debuts of both fighters.
News of Burgos signing with PFL came as a shock to many. “Hurricane” had just defeated Charles Jourdain at UFC on ABC 3 in July and was on a two-fight win streak when he left the organization. UFC President Dana White has admitted that someone on his staff screwed up in letting Burgos flee the promotion for PFL.
