Neil Magny vs. Shavkat Rokhmonov

UFC veteran Neil Magny will look to stop the hype train of Shavkat Rokhmonov. The rising prospect is a perfect 15-0, he’s touted to be the next big thing at Welterweight. Magny (26-8), walks out for his 27th UFC fight and he has remained relevant for an impressive amount of time, he is 19-7 inside of the promotion.

This is the perfect test for Rakhmonov and by far his toughest. He is a machine and has finished every opponent he has faced. Magny has top-level experience and exceptional cardio.

Here’s how the fight played out round by round:

ROUND 1:

Co-main event is ready. Kicks early and often for Magny. 30 seconds in and Magny is on his back. Shavkat working on the mat, heavy pressure on top and raining down fists. A stalemate with the grappling as Magny is trying to utilise a heel hook to try and make his way up. Shavkat stays calm and ends the round on top landing elbows.

ROUND 2:

A strong opening round from Shavkat, lets see what Magny does in this round.  A few kicks from Magny and Shavkat evades them and we are back in the clinch. Nicely done from Shavkat, we are back down on the mat. Magny creating scrambles from the bottom but Shavkat is just always one step ahead. 10 second bell goes and Shavkat jumps on a guillotine and pulls guard. It looks tight, Magny does not like this position, he’s trying to stay calm. Magny is forced to tap, wow what a statement.

He’s the real deal, and he’s proven every bit of it tonight.
