Sheymon Moraes vs Boston Salmon added to PFL 2

We’ve been informed of a very exciting lightweight contest going down at PFL 2, 2022, and that’s a bout between UFC veterans Sheymon Moraes and Boston Salmon.

This event, PFL 2, is to go down on April 28, 2022, at the Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

PFL has been putting some really good match ups together over the last year or two, and it’s been great to see.

With them signing more and more names each season, along with their unique format, it’s quickly become one of the bigger promotions in the sport, especially in the United States.

Sheymon Moraes came to the UFC in 2017 with a record of 9-1, following wins over UFC veteran Robbie Peralta and future BKFC champion Luis Palomino. Once arriving to the big show, he debuted against Zabit Magomedsharipov, who submitted him late in round three.

This was followed up by back-to-back victories over Matt Sayles and Julio Arce, before losing a pair of fights to Sodiq Yusuff and Andre Fili, being knocked out in the latter. This led to his departure from the promotion, and he immediately signed with PFL.

Following a defeat to Brendan Loughnane, Moraes has since defeated Jesse Stirn and Lazar Stojadinovic in his latest two appearances.

Boston Salmon came over to the UFC a couple years later in 2019, though he was awarded a contract after defeating future TUF winner Ricky Turcios on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2017, four months prior to Moraes’ debut.

Then, once arriving in the UFC with a record of 6-1, he dropped back-to-back defeats to Khalid Taha and Randy Costa, both via knockout, and was released by the promotion.

Salmon has since won his last two bouts over the likes of Shawn West and Do Gyeom Lee.

As you see, both men came up short in the UFC, losing their last two fights within the promotion, and each have won two-straight bouts since being released, improving Moraes’ record to 13-5, and Salmon’s record to 8-3.

Who do you see coming out the victor in this lightweight contest?

I became a fan of combat sports when I was 12 years old. I was scrolling through the channels and landed upon Versus, where WEC was televised. Urijah Faber fought Jens Pulver for the second time that night. That's the first fight I ever saw, and I was immediately hooked. So eventually, I began covering the sport in the fourth quarter of 2018, and have since started writing about animals as well.
