Stamp Fairtex on Alyona Rassohyna rematch win at ONE: Empower

Stamp Fairtex defeated Alyona Rassohyna via split decision at ONE: Empower. This Atomweight Grand Prix quarter-finals bout went down September 3rd from Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Stamp earned the victory over Rassohyna in the rematch after the submission finish in their first outing. With this Stamp victory, the Rassohyna series is now all tied up.

Stamp gutted it out for the razor-thin win and punched her ticket to the tournament semi-finals in the process. The semi-final matchups of the ONE Atomweight Grand Prix will be voted upon by the fans in the coming days.

The Alyona Rassohyna setback was the lone loss of her pro MMA career. The two-sport world champion in ONE Championship avenged her lone MMA loss inside the ONE Circle. Fairtex is now pursuant of her guest for a belt in a third combat discipline with the promotion.

The decorated striking-based title holder showcased her ever-growing grappling game against Rassohyna. Stamp even took the back and worked for submissions at various junctures in this contest.

I spoke with Fairtex at the post-fight presser after the victory in this rematch.

Fans voting on the semi-finals and if she’d prefer a more clearly defined tournament bracket

“I think it’s quite good because it’s for the opinion from ONE Championship. Fans can vote and to see that preference in the fight matchups.”

The meaningful period in the second round where Stamp fought without a mouthpiece

“Well to be honest, if I say it about myself for this fight for a second-round I feel like, overall I would say like I did not so good, as I planned. And because of previously, I was injured in the fight as well. Even how I trained a lot on Muay Thai and BJJ, but I still concern on my injury before the fight. So I did not so well.”
