Stephanie Geltmacher discusses her upcoming women’s flyweight matchup with Victoria Leonardo at Invicta FC 36. The event takes place Aug. 9 at the Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas and will air on UFC Fight Pass.
“Hold Fast” talks about how she got into the sport and explains why she knew this would be her path since she was 6 years old, her quick rise in the sport, how her win first-round TKO win over Kerri Kenneson was a defining moment, Victoria Leonardo as an opponent and how this will be one of the toughest fights of her career, her promise to the fans who will be watching the event on Aug. 9 if she has allowed herself to think about getting that life changing phone call from the UFC and much more.
Geltmacher also talks about what a conversation would be like between her present self, and the 6-year-old who believed she would be a combat sports athlete in the future.
“I would tell her, ‘don’t be afraid to fail’,” Geltmacher told MyMMANews.com. “As long as you get up and move forward, don’t be afraid to fail. Learn from it. Don’t cut corners and be good to your mom and dad (laughing).”
