Superbon vs Marat Grigorian set for ONE X
Superbon vs Marat Grigorian transpires at the ten-year anniversary show for ONE Championship.
ONE X goes down on March 26th live from Singapore Indoor Stadium. Superbon will defend his ONE featherweight world kickboxing title against Grigorian, the number one ranked contender within that division.
Superbon aims to make the inaugural defense of his crown after notching one of the more emphatic highlight-reel stoppages of last year.
That ONE: First Strike bout saw one of the most well-regarded kickboxers of all time Giorgio Petrosyan get knocked out via a spectacular head kick from Superbon.
This cemented him as the first-ever featherweight kickboxing champion in the promotion’s history. That win last October also secured Superbon the 2021 ONE Super Series Knockout of the Year award.
Grigorian could no longer compete in the semi-final stage of the ONE featherweight kickboxing Grand Prix after testing positive for COVID 19.
Marat Grigorian’s last bout was his GP quarterfinal matchup at the aforementioned ONE: First Strike card. He was able to halt K1 Max legend Andy Souwer in that prizefight.
Superbon vs Marat Grigorian
This is not the first time these two will step into the ring and test skills against one another. The first fight took place in February 2018 and ended in less than thirty seconds
Grigorian separated Superbon from consciousness to cement himself as the 2017 Kunlun Fight World MAX Tournament Champion.
Superbon is looking to be on a dozen-fight win streak should he get the ideal outcome in this next contest.
This bout is the fifth world championship fight bolstering this event.
Also on this martial arts extravaganza is the finals of the ONE featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix. This clash pits number three contender Sitthichai against #4-ranked Chingiz Allazov.
The winner not only becomes Grand Prix champion but will also get the first title crack at the victor of Superbon versus Grigorian.
