Two Swedes are challenged by a Finn and a Frenchman at Superior Challenge 13
The strong wrestler Alexander Bergman is set against the technical wrestler Wilfried Edmund, and Arman Popal has a tough challenge ahead in Aleksi Putkonen at Superior Challenge 13 – Norrköping on April 9th at Stadium Arena.
The young Swedish star Alexander Bergman began his athletic career with wrestling, and then grappling before he moved over to MMA in 2012. Bergman finished three of his four wins via Rear-Naked Choke in the first round. His opponents Wilfried Edmund has also competed in both wrestling and grappling, and switched to MMA at almost exactly the same time as the Swede. Edmund has fought one more bout than Alex, and has switched between light heavyweight and middleweight. He has finished three of five wins via KO / TKO in the first round.
The former Swedish Shootfighting champion Arman Popal did his pro debut for two years ago and looked very strong in his last bout at Superior Challenge 12. Now he takes on a really tough opponent in Aleksi Putkonen who made pro debut the same year as his opponent. Both athletes have similar record and background, and both are facing their toughest career challenge to date.
Babak Ashti, Founder Superior Group International:
– Bergman is one of Sweden’s top grapplers who is set against the hard-hitting wrestler Edmund from France, and Popal is matched against the Finn Putkonen. International bouts are always exciting, but it’s something especially exciting with challenges from our neighbouring rival Finland. These are two very even matchups that guarantee action.
