Tara Graff On Valerie Loureda: “It’s Demoralizing” How She Promotes Herself

Interview with Tara Graff above

Tara Graff (1-1) discusses her flyweight fight against Valerie Loureda (2-0) at Bellator 243 on August 7. Tara also talks about why their first scheduled bout in January didn’t come to fruition, her training camp, and being the fighter brought in to lose. Tara also commented on the way her opponent promotes herself on social media and says it’s not something she’d like to see with women’s MMA fighters.

“This is a male-dominated sport as it is you know? For a female to just come in and use their body to get to that platform. That drives me crazy. Like, use your fighting as your platform you know? For me, I think it’s demoralizing yourself. You’re devaluing yourself. Take that mess off the internet. Do you want men to drool on you? No, you want them to look at your fighting and (say) ‘man she’s a badass.'”

Bellator 243 takes place on August 7 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. Former lightweight champion Michael Chandler faces Benson Henderson in a rematch for the main event.
