Terrance Jean-Jacques: Road to ONE “means the world”
Terrance Jean-Jacques (7-3) will meet Yimaz Wildman (4-1) in the main event of RUF47 on Saturday, May 14. A lot is stake in Phoenix, Arizona this weekend as this is not only a heavyweight title competition, but this Road to ONE final fight winner also gets a contract to compete for ONE Championship.
When asked what the ‘Road to ONE’ has meant to Jean-Jacques, the 29-year-old fighter from Massachusetts was appreciate of the offer in front of him.
“To me, it means the world because we were scrapping to try to get any fight,” Jean-Jacques said. “In some promotions, you almost had to fight for free. I was even looking for boxing matches and stuff like that. Even when they came to me a few weeks out for a last-minute flight, I was contemplating it. I had some people saying I should take it, some people say I shouldn’t. So I’m just happy for me and everybody around myself that I took the chance and that we’re here now. I haven’t had a shot yet at a bigger promotion. So I mean, it’s definitely got more people’s eyes on me than before so I couldn’t be more happy to get the opportunity. I’m definitely ready to capitalize on it.”
