Teymur Zhaparov, MMA fighter falls off cage in post-fight celebration – VIDEO
Teymur Zhaparov, a 31-year-old professional mixed martial artist out of Astana, Kazakhstan, learned a hard lesson over the weekend.
After defeating Zhakhongir Nazhmedinov by way of unanimous decision at Oktagon MMA 41 on Sunday, Zhaparov did the one thing that cageside officials tell you not to do.
Zhaparov climbed the cage after his victory on February 19, only to find himself quickly back down on the ground… and it was all caught on camera.
“People forget the top of a cage was not built for humans to stand and celebrate on,” MMA journalist Chris Presnell wrote on Twitter along with the video. “Teymur Zhaparov learned that today at Octagon 41.”

The event was held at the Baluan Sholaq Arena in Almaty. With the win Zhaparo moves to 12-3-1 as a pro. He was not injured in the fall.
