Junto Nakatani stops Ryota Yamauchi to retain WBO 112 lb title at Gennady Golovkin vs. Ryota Murata: 

Olympic champion Yamauchi’s (8-2-0, 7 KOs) corner threw in the towel in the eighth round of the 12-round bout after an onslaught of strikes. Nakatani (23-0-0, 18 KOs) won the bout to retain his WBO flyweight title. This was his second successful title defense.

Kenny Licea drops Noah Cutter at BKFC 23

On Friday’s BKFC 23, Licea (4-5-0) and Cutter (1-5-0) had an absolute war in Kansas. Ultimately the fight ended in the second round as “Hella” Licea landed a flush right which left Cutter staring up at the lights.

Floyd Diaz stops Blake Quintana with a brutal body shot at Top Ranks Mikaela Mayer vs. Jennifer Han: 

Undefeated 18-year-old Diaz (4-0-0, 1 KO) took on Quintana this past Saturday in Costa Mesa, California. Leading with a left hand and a left hook, Diaz created an opening for a brutal uppercut to the body which put Quintana to his knees. This was the first stoppage in the young boxer’s professional career.

Aleksei Oleinik submits Jared Vanderaa at UFC 273:

At 44-years-old, Oleinik (60-16-1) continues to prove to be a real problem for any heavyweight contender. He was able to secure his 47th career submission and 60th career victory over Vanderaa (12-8-0) with a scarf hold in the first round.

Marciano Hernandez finishes Jerald Gregori in less than a minute at BKFC 23:

The number one flyweight under the BKFC banner Hernandez (2-0-0)  made quick work of fellow flyweight contender Gregori (2-6-0). Hernandez landed a devastating right hook that put Gregori on his back and ended the fight in just 48 seconds.

 

Mike Malott flat-lines Mickey Gall at UFC 273:

Malott (8-1-1)  made his promotional debut at UFC 273 on Saturday night against fellow welterweight Mickey Gall (7-5-0). Though Gall was looking good early on, Malott landed a stiff left hook in an exchange that left Gall face down on the canvas. 

Following the bout, Malott gave a heartfelt post-fight interview spotlighting his coach Joey Rodriguez and his daughter who was recently diagnosed with lymphoma. He stated that he was going to donate his show money to Rodriguez and his family to help them fight through this tough time.

Tristan Kalkreuth KO’s Santander Silgado at DAZN’s Ryan Garcia vs. Emmanuel Tagoe:

“T Sweet” Kalkreuth made his 10th walk to the ring last Satruday, where he was met with experienced boxer Silgado (30-12-0). The bout didn’t last long, however, as Kalkreuth (9-1-0) landed a picture-perfect one-two dropping Silgado in the second round. 

“GGG” Gennady Golovkin proves to be too much for Ryota Murata

In an attempt to unify the IBF, IBO, and WBA (super) middleweight titles, Golovkin (42-1-0, 37 KOs) got off to a rocky start in the early rounds of the bout. As it went on, Golovkin began to put it on the Japanese champion, Murata (16-3-0, 13 KOs), ultimately leading to a 9th round TKO.
