This day in ONE Championship history
Aung La N Sang and Vitaly Bigdash had their sequel affair, of an eventual three-fight series as this writing, with the ONE middleweight world title on the line.
N Sang had fallen short in his initial title bid versus Bigdash and was looking to even up the series with the tremendous partisan support of the crowd galvanizing his efforts.
His countrymen fervently cheered The Burmese Python in his pursuit of world championship glory. This after falling to Bigdash earlier in the year via unanimous decision.
Vitaly Bigdash aimed to maintain his hold on the gold against a challenger with a big home-field advantage.
Aung La N Sang dropped Bigdash to the canvas with punches in the first frame. The fluid chaining of wrestling and striking was more of a prominent aspect for Bigdash in the second and third stanzas.
The championship rounds saw N Sang dig down deep and push a good pace with hooks and uppercuts that pierced through Bigdash’s guard well.
A gutsy display of pugilistic will that ultimately garnered N Sang the ONE middleweight world title to the adoration of the fans in attendance.
