Titan FC 78 weigh-in results – Heavyweight Gold on the Line
Titan Fighting Championship continues its partnership with Fighting Force Promotions and returns to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to host Titan FC 78 at the Pabellon De Esgrima Centro Olimpico on July 29th. The event’s main card is scheduled to broadcast live on UFC Fight Pass. The card is set to host eight professional MMA bouts and is capped off with two championship contests.
In the main event, vacant Titan FC Heavyweight gold is on the line as UFC and PFL veteran, Alex Nicholson (14-9) and hometown knockout artist, Oscar Sosa (14-2), square off for the second time in just over four months.
After a decision victory over Sosa for the Titan FC Heavyweight Kickboxing title at Titan FC 75, Nicholson is set for his first professional MMA appearance in nearly three years. Sosa makes his third walk to the Titan FC cage in hopes of earning his biggest victory to date.
Fighting Force Lightweight champion, Jhonasky Sojo (12-3), seeks a second title defense in the co-headliner as he takes on the Dominican Republic’s own, Jefrey Roy (6-3).
Sojo steps into the cage riding a four-fight win streak while Roy has earned victories in back-to-back bouts.
Also on the card, Sanford MMA’s Devon Dixon (4-1-1), looks to remain unbeaten in the Titan FC cage as he battles submission specialist Elias Santos (4-5).
Dixon looks to get back in the win column after dropping his last bout. Santos hopes to bounce back from a loss in his Fighting Force Welterweight title challenge at Titan FC 75.
Six-time Jiu-Jitsu world champion, Talita Alencar (2-0), makes her third walk to the Titan FC cage in the cards featured bout and the owner of the only Twister submission in Titan FC history, Ty Johnson (8-6), makes his fifth promotional appearance.
Top Caribbean prospect, Carlos Matos (9-1), also returns to action on the Titan FC 78 main card.
Titan FC 78 will kick off with preliminary bouts on the promotion’s Facebook page beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET, followed by the main card on UFC Fight Pass beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
