Tom Aspinall batters Alan Baudot on the ground in first round

A packed UFC on ESPN+37 card will take place on “Fight Island” tonight, Saturday, Oct. 10.

Headlining the 14-bout event is a matchup between top-five ranked bantamweights Marlon Moraes and Cory Sandhagen. The co-main event features a featherweight bout between Edson Barboza and Makwan Amirkhani inside the Flash Forum in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. 

Continuing the action on the main card are heavyweight Tom Aspinall and Alan Baudot. Aspinall is coming off a standout UFC debut, knocking out Jake Collier in the first round at UFC on ESPN 14 on July 25. 

He is on a  four-fight win streak, including two victories under the Cage Warriors banner.

Baudot is set to make his UFC debut after spending more than a year away from the cage. The Frenchmen is coming off back-to-back victories, most recently a disqualification over Todd Stoute at TKO 47 in April 2019.

His most recent defeat is a first-round TKO loss to Dalcha Lungiambula, who is now a fellow UFC fighter.

ROUND 1

The two tap gloves. Baudot lands a job right away. Baudot in the center, Aspinall on the outside. Baudot lands a right hand. Baudot lands a jab, followed by a leg kick. Aspinall lands an immediate takedown. Aspinall reigns downs some elbows, followed by more ground and pound. Baudot taking a lot of punishment. Aspinall keeps throwing down blows and gets the stoppage.
