Tom Espinosa will look to successfully defend his Ring of Combat flyweight title against Joshua Ricci in Atlantic City, New Jersey on February 22, 2019. The ROC 67: Night of Champions fight card takes place at the organization’s home in the Tropicana Hotel and Casino.
The 25-year old Ricci will be making his Ring of Combat debut. His 4-1 record includes wins in Bellator, CES, and Prodigy MMA Fighting Championship. He is coming into the fight on the heels of a unanimous loss to John Lopez at CES 52 last month.
Espinosa (6-1) won the ROC belt with a knockout victory over William Elliot at ROC 62 in February. He then went on to fight on the Bellator Fedor vs. Sonnen fight card in New York where he defeated Suhrob Aidarbekov by way of armbar in just 87 seconds. The February 22 fight will serve as Espinosa’s first title defense for Ring of Combat.
The 26-year old Espinosa tells MyMMANews, “if it bleeds, you can kill it.”
Ring of Combat has not yet officially announced the fight or the fight card but they have confirmed that bantamweight champion Phil Caracappa will also be defending his title that night.
Ticket information is available on the Ring of Combat website.
