Tommy Fury remains undefeated in lackluster victory over KSI at Misfits Boxing

DAZN Boxing returned to us today, October 14, 2023, for Misfits Boxing Prime Card, going down live from the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.

Headlining the event was a 183 lb catchweight bout between YouTube boxing sensation KSI and fellow Englishman Tommy Fury.

Fury had gone a perfect 9-0 through his professional career going into tonight’s main event, while KSI had gone 5-0-1-1 between his amateur, exhibition, and professional bouts; the draw came to Logan Paul, which he avenged in the immediate rematch, and he was coming off a no contest against 9-1 talent Joe Fournier, who he KO’d with an illegal elbow earlier this year in May.

Official Result: Tommy Fury def. KSI via majority decision (57-56, 57-56, 57-57)

KSI lands a number of good shots in the opening round, utilizing great footwork with a karate stance; he looks very much like Michael Page in there.

Fury has a point taken from him in round two due to repeated blows to the back of the head. KSI lands a hard right hand that appears to momentarily stun Fury, though Fury ties up with him immediately following.

Fury lands a few sharp punches toward the end of round three, beginning with his left hook. KSI ties up with him and goes to the body with repeated hooks, which has quickly become a large part of this fight.

Much of round four was also spent in dirty boxing range, as well as the fifth. Each man took turns lunging in with punches before tying up with the other.

KSI is able to fight the final minute or so of the sixth and final round at range, landing a couple good punches in the process.

Tommy Fury didn’t really look like himself tonight, but it didn’t matter as he remains undefeated following this evening’s main event.

I became a fan of combat sports when I was 12 years old. I was scrolling through the channels and landed upon Versus, where WEC was televised. Urijah Faber fought Jens Pulver for the second time that night. That's the first fight I ever saw, and I was immediately hooked. So eventually, I began covering the sport in the fourth quarter of 2018, and have since started writing about animals as well.
