Tony Ferguson enlists the help of legendary boxing coach Freddie Roach
Tony Ferguson is a former UFC lightweight interim titleholder. He has been working his career to get to that undisputed title spot. He was close so many times but never clinched the actual title. Ferguson is now on a bit of a skid. He has lost two in a row but seems to be as determined as ever to get back to the top of the division. In his quest, Ferguson has now enlisted the help of one of the best in the business, renowned boxing coach Freddie Roach.
Roach confirmed that he is now working with Ferguson on Instagram.

“‘Right💪🦸♂️🤚Where I Need To Be’🥇 Thanks Coach Freddie & Wildcard Boxing Fam For Giving Me A Chance 🙏🦁Always Been A Wildcard At Heart🥊💨Fight Prep Mitwork & Bagwork In The Boox 📝 Rest, Recover & Re-Strategize 🎓The🔋Energizer Is On Full🐰Charge Crew🍃Excited To Train Again 👊😆 Hands Feeling Accurate & Conditioning On Point, But Can ALWAYS Be Better!!! 2021 Challenge👍Accepted ⚔️🕶 -CSO- 🇺🇸🏆🇲🇽 # Moar🥷Focus # CoachKeepin’MyRightHandStrong,” Ferguson wrote on social media.
Roach has worked with some of the best in both boxing and MMA. Some of Roaches most known athletes are Manny Pacquiao, Georges St-Pierre, Julio César Chávez Jr., and Miguel Cotto.
In Ferguson’s early UFC career he has a man who earned many of his victories through his ground game. He has six submission victories in the UFC but his stand-up was always there too when he needed it. Ferguson holds five TKO or KO victories in his ten-year UFC tenure. With his last two losses pushing him outside the top three in the official UFC lightweight rankings for the first time in a long time, Ferguson might be looking to improve his boxing.
The next step for Tony Ferguson is unclear at this time but he could easily step into the Octagon with anyone from the top ten.
