Tony Ferguson releases statement after UFC 274 KO loss: ‘Feels good to be back & hungry again’
Tony Ferguson still wants to continue to fight.
Ferguson was returning at UFC 274 for the first time in a year against Michael Chandler in a very intriguing matchup. Both ‘El Cucuy’ and Chandler were looking to return to the win column and in the lead-up to the scrap, many were writing Ferguson off. However, in the first round, he looked impressive and appeared to drop Chandler early.
After the first round, Ferguson had a ton of confidence but early into the second round, he got caught with a front kick and suffered a KO loss. Now, after the setback, he took to social media to issue a statement and says he will fight again as he is hungry again.

With the loss, Tony Ferguson dropped to 25-7 and is now on a four-fight losing streak. Prior to the loss to Chandler, he dropped decision losses to Beneil Dariush and Charles Oliveira, including losing by TKO to Justin Gaethje for the interim belt. Before the setbacks, El Cucuy was on a 12-fight wins streak including winning the interim lightweight title. During that run, he beat Kevin Lee, Anthony Pettis, Rafael dos Anjos, Edson Barboza, and Donald Cerrone among others.
When and who Ferguson fights again in his return is uncertain. He will need some time off after the vicious KO, but he appears to be in good spirits and wants to continue to fight and get back into the win column. Dana White had said he will still get another fight in the UFC as he looks to snap his losing streak.
