“The champ is here,” as they say!

Tony “The Hulk” Johnson has done it, once again, defending his ACA heavyweight strap for a second time. This time, stopping Mukhamad Vakhaev in the opening round, with a matter of seconds left on the clock.

Following a brief run in at weigh ins, Johnson expressed his dismay for his impending opponent, Vakhaev as the two exchanged words. With tensions running high, Johnson had the extra motivation to stampede through Vakhaev in the opening round while he put on a beautiful display of boxing. Switching his strikes from the head to the body, Vakhaev was left guessing where the next show would be coming from. With under a minute left on the clock, Johnson landed a clean right hand that sent Vakhaev crashing to the canvas.

Johnson didn’t waste any time pouncing on his wounded prey, following up with a series of heavy ground and pound punches. Vakhaev scrambled and gave up his back while Johnson continued the punishment. Shortly following, the referee had seen enough to put a stop to the punishment, declaring Tony Johnson Jr. the 3x ACA heavyweight king.

“I expected it,” Johnson says with sheer certainty. “I told everyone I was going to knock him out,” he continues. “I told him and everyone I was going to make him pay on Friday and that’s exactly what I did,” Johnson elaborates on his prediction.

At the end of the day, the reigning champ, Tony “The Hulk” Johnson Jr. delivered as promised, defending his Absolute Championship Akhmat heavyweight title for the second consecutive time.
