Tresean Gore discusses his first career UFC win at UFC Vegas 63
Tresean Gore felt a lot of emotions throughout the week of UFC Vegas 63.
In the lead up to the fight, Gore shared stories of growing up in a rough neighborhood and how his mother lost her leg which caused major health concerns prior to his fight.
Tears would come down Gore’s face as he told the stories to the media ahead of his fight and UFC president Dana White shared a clip from Gore’s press conference that took off around the internet.
While there were some sad emotions, the frown would eventually get turned upside down by the end of the week.
On fight night, Gore took on Josh Fremd in hopes of ending a two-fight losing streak.
When the cage door closed, Gore was locked in and he would score an early takedown. Following the take down, Fremd would eventually work his way back to his to his feet and was able to tighten the gap a little bit.
Fremd did have some success in the standup, but Gore felt that he was landing punches that were hurting Fremd and he was expecting Fremd to break. Eventually that’s exactly what happened.
Within the first minute of the second round, Fremd made the decision to shoot in and try for a takedown. Not only was the attempt unsuccessful, but Gore read it perfectly and would lock in a choke.
The choke would put Fremd out cold and Gore would get a historic win in his career as the second round submission marked Gore’s first career UFC win.
Following the win, Gore spoke with MyMMANews to discuss his first win inside the octagon, earning a performance bonus for the win and his future plans.
