Tresean Gore discusses his upcoming fight against Josh Fremd at UFC Vegas 63
Tresean Gore is still learning on the job, but he feels like he’s ready to show the world his best performance ever when he fights at UFC Vegas 63.
Gore was just 3-0 when he was invited to take part in the UFC’s hit show The Ultimate Fighter. While on the show, Gore picked up two wins in which were considered exhibition bouts. He scheduled to take part in the shows finale, but was forced to withdraw from the finale with a knee injury.
After that, Gore was signed to the UFC due to his skills inside of the cage. While most fighters have plenty of fights under their belts before signing with the UFC, Gore was making his octagon debut with literally a handful of them.
His first two UFC outings were tough as Gore would suffer a unanimous decision loss to Bryan Battle in his UFC debut and then he made a mistake in his second fight that would result in a knockout loss to Cody Brundage.
Following the defeats, Gore says he became more humble. He is a man of faith and at first he was angry with God for the losses, but then turned to the bible verse Luke 14:11 which says, “For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
The message was an eye opener to Gore, and he believes the message has given himself a new source of motivation.
With the motivation, also came a new career move as Gore left his family behind in South Carolina for a few weeks to travel out to Texas and train at Fortis MMA.
The move to Fortis MMA has been great so far and Gore has never felt better heading into a fight. Now he’ll look to take his new lessons inside of the octagon and get his first career UFC win.
Ahead of his UFC Vegas 63 matchup with Josh Fremd, Gore spoke with MyMMANews to discuss his upcoming fight, his move to Fortis MMA, the love he has for his family and his faith.
