Trevor Peek discusses his first career UFC win

Trevor Peek picked up a very important milestone in his career at UFC Vegas 70 as he picked up his first career UFC win.

Prior to the fight, Peek told himself to just go out there and have fun so when his music hit the speakers and he made his first walk to the octagon, that’s exactly what he did.

Part of the fun process would be fighting as hard as he possibly could.

In the opening-round of the fight, Peek would start throwing haymakers right from the start of the fight. Every punch or kick that he threw would have bad intentions behind it and his opponent Erick Gonzalez didn’t want to get hit with any of Peek’s shots.

As Gonzalez felt Peek’s power, he would clinch and throw Peek to the canvas, but Peek wouldn’t allow the fight to go there.

Every time Peek hit the ground, he would explode right back up and he would eventually break away from the clinch and go right back to throwing bombs.

With little time left on the clock, Peek would land the shot he needed to end the fight. He battered Gonzalez with a few heavy punches and beat the first-round horn by one second to secure a first-round knockout win in his first UFC fight.

After the win, Peek won more and more fans over as his knockout was shared all across social media, he was given a performance bonus by the UFC and UFC ring announcer Bruce Buffer was so amazed at Peek’s performance and his story of overcoming addiction and turning to God that Buffer gave him his ring announcement card and had him on his podcast.

While everything has been happening so fast, Peek is taking it all in and he couldn’t be happier in life.

Following his UFC Vegas 70 win, Peek spoke with MyMMANews about his victory over Gonzalez, all the attention he’s been receiving for it and being on Bruce Buffer’s podcast.
