Trevor Peek discusses his upcoming fight at UFC on ABC 5
Trevor Peek feels settled into UFC career after what was an amazing ride just to get to this point.
Peek had some run ins with the law and he also suffered with drug and alcohol abuse in his younger years.
After getting himself cleaned up, Peek fell in love with God and the sport of mixed martial arts.
Ever since that moment in time, his career has been absolutely perfect and last year in 2022, Peek earned a huge win on the regional scene over former UFC fighter Khama Worthy.
That win got him a shot on Dana White’s Contender Series against Malik Lewis and after a slow start to the fight, Peek came from behind to knock Lewis out and earn a UFC contract.
The moment was special and almost didn’t feel real for Peek, but then early this year in February, the pinch me, I must be dreaming moment quickly became a reality as Peek made his UFC debut.
In his debut, Peek started out a lot quicker than he did in his Contender Series fight as he knocked out his opponent Erick Gonzalez in the first round of their fight.
Peek’s dreams all came true as he turned himself around, made it to the UFC and earned a performance bonus in his first fight.
In fact, his story caught the eye of UFC octagon announcer Bruce Buffer, who had Peek on his podcast following his win.
There have been a lot of great moments within the last year for Peek and he’s blessed for that, but now he’s all settled in and now the real hard work begins as Peek wants to make a big run in his UFC career.
In order to do that, he’ll need to keep racking up wins and he’ll get to do that on June 24 at UFC on ABC 5.
Peek is set to take on Victor Martinez and he’s expecting a massive performance in that fight.
With the fights being in Jacksonville, Fla., Peek will have 200 members of his family and friends coming down to the fight and Peek has always wanted to fight in front of a live UFC crowd as he feels that he plays off their energy.
Now he’ll get to do that and he’s expecting another first round knockout to be added onto his record.
Ahead of the fight, Peek talked with MyMMANews about his UFC on ABC 5 matchup with Martinez, his preparation for the fight in which he caught a hawk in training camp and his massive support staff coming down to Florida to see him fight.
